Africa's First Country to Recover 100% From Covid-19

It is a great day for Africans all around the world. Covid-19 was said it was 

going to affect the mother land Africa the worst, according to American 

billionaire Bill Gates. As a country in Africa fully recovers from the virus, 

although a few casualties,it shines hope all over the land.

With a total population of 1.2 million, The small country of Mauritius has 

now fully recovered from the coronavirus. The country had its first case of 

the virus on 18 March 2020 and in a course of just 2 months, the virus had 

left its soil.

The confirmed cases rose to 332 during the 2 months the country had the 

virus. It unfortunately had 10 of its people lose their lives to the virus but 

however, as from yesterday 11 May 2020, The country had 100% of the 

active cases recover and not a single person is reported to be infected 

anymore.

The statistics above show that a total of 322 people have recovered from 

the virus. No country in the world was been able to recover from the virus 

after passing the 100 mark of confirmed infections, this is a huge 

milestone for the continent.

As seen in the graph above, the country's. Active cases slowly went up in 

April and finally reached its peak in mid April. After that it started 

descending down as each person recovered until it went back to zero.

In an article by AfricaNews dated 04 May 2020, they reported the following:

"Currently there are 3 active cases out of 332 positive cases registered 

including 10 deaths. The sanitary curfew put in place on March 20, and 

which should have ended today, has been extended until June 1, Prime 

Minister Pravind Jugnauth announced last Friday."
